Author Guidelines

Coletivo Cine-Fórum Journal welcomes contributions from professors and researchers in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences, accepting articles by PhD holders, PhD candidates, master’s degree holders, master’s students, and undergraduate students. Essay submissions must be authored exclusively by PhD holders. All manuscripts must be submitted through the digital system available on this website.

Submitted manuscripts initially undergo an evaluation by the Editorial Board, which verifies compliance with the journal’s editorial guidelines and selection criteria. After the Desk Review stage, manuscripts are sent to two or more specialists in the relevant field, who assess the scientific merit based on criteria such as originality, thematic relevance, and methodological rigor. The peer-review process follows a double-blind review system and is conducted by members of the Editorial Board or by ad hoc reviewers.

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editorial Board makes the final decision regarding publication, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers. The Board also reserves the right to make adjustments, cuts, or necessary revisions to approved manuscripts in order to comply with the journal’s standards, while preserving the work’s style and content. The average time between submission and publication, when an article is accepted, is approximately 14 weeks.

All texts selected for publication must be original and unpublished, and simultaneous submission to other journals or editorial bodies is not permitted.

DATA SHARING

Coletivo Cine-Fórum Journal adopts and promotes the principles of open science and scientific transparency. In this regard, authors are strongly encouraged to cite and share the raw or supplementary data that underpin the results presented in their publications.

The sharing of research data is promoted through deposition in open, recognized, and reliable repositories, which helps to increase the visibility and impact of the work, as well as to enable verification, reuse, and the advancement of knowledge by the scientific community.

In order to ensure data security, preservation, and long-term accessibility, the use of open-access platforms such as Zenodo,  Figshare e  OSF – Open Science Framework, among others, is recommended.

ETHICS

  • Originality: Texts previously published in conference proceedings must be revised and may be submitted, provided this is declared in the “Comments to the Editor” field.

  • Plagiarism: Submissions are analyzed using CopySpider and Plagium software. Cases of plagiarism or self-plagiarism will result in immediate rejection, in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. More information: http://publicationethics.org/resources/code-conduct

  • Use of Artificial Intelligence: The use of any artificial intelligence to write texts for this journal is expressly prohibited.

Originality and Unpublished Status

Original contributions are understood as theoretical, methodological, and analytical approaches that have no precedent in the existing literature of a given field and therefore present an innovative character.
For a text to be considered unpublished, it must not have been previously published in any format, whether print or digital, with or without registration. In cases of works published in conference proceedings or materials available in institutional repositories (dissertations and theses), authors are encouraged to revise their work, considering peer discussions, before submitting it to the journal.

The Coletivo Cine-Fórum is committed to academic rigor and epistemological diversity in the Humanities.

After acceptance and editorial revision, the author must submit the English and Spanish versions of the text within a maximum period of 30 (thirty) days, which is an indispensable condition for publication. The translations will undergo quality control and, if they do not meet the required standards, the article will not be published until the necessary corrections are made. The English and Spanish version must be submitted using the same template, with references prepared in accordance with APA standards (available here).

4. If the manuscript results from a previous presentation at academic events (congresses, seminars, symposia, among others), this information must be indicated in the “comments to the editor” field at the time of submission. Papers previously presented at events that have not undergone substantial revisions will not be accepted.
